Ever wonder where natural rubber comes from?

Tree sap. The French occupied Vietnam from 1887 – 1954 and during that time they built many rubber plantations. The most famous is the Michelin Rubber Plantation established in 1925. It was 31,000 acres of trees like you see in the picture. There is a movie called Indochine that explains what life was like living and working on a rubber plantation back in the day. Very eye opening.
Today Vietnam still exports rubber products to 175 countries. In 2020, Vietnam's largest export market for rubber products was the United States, reaching about US$1 billion, with a market share of 33.2 per cent, followed by Japan, China, South Korea and Germany.
I don’t specialize in rubber but I can introduce you to people who do. Let’s connect.
